Where does the Cresthaven Ski Club go on their club trips?

 

Cresthaven Ski Club typically runs four or five weekend bus trips to various areas in New England and upstate New York, and one or two week-long trips to resorts in the western U.S., Canada or Europe. The club usually has at least one mid-week day trip to upstate New York or southern Vermont as well. Cresthaven ski club participates in trips sponsored by the Long Island Association of Ski Clubs (LISAC) and Metropolitan New York Ski Council (MET council).

How much are Cresthaven ski club trips and what do they include?

 

Our club weekend trips range in price from $370 to $400 for members, club guests are usually $35 higher. This price includes bus transportation to the ski area, lodging, two-day lift ticket, two breakfasts, one dinner and a box lunch for the ride home*. We also provide assorted beverages, light snacks and movies on the bus; however, we suggest you bring a sandwich for the ride up.

Can Cresthaven ski club help me get lessons and equipment?

 

If you need lessons or equipment, let the Cresthaven club trip leader know at the time you sign up for the trip. The club trip leader can help make arrangements with the mountain. If you need to rent equipment, you may want to rent from a local ski shop and bring them with you - it will save valuable ski time rather than waiting on line at the mountain!

I've never skied or snowboarded before, can I get lessons?

 

Ski and snowboard lesson are available from the ski mountain! The club trip leader can help arrange a beginner, advanced or personal, lifts/lesson/equipment package for you. The price of the club trip will be adjusted so you will not pay twice for ski lift tickets. Many ski areas offer these packages at extremely low prices to get you started. After you have taken your beginner lessons, we will arrange for you to have a "Ski Buddy". Be sure to let the Cresthaven ski club trip leader know if you want lessons at the time you sign up for the club trip.

I don't know anyone in the ski club and I don't want to ski alone, can you help?

 

Cresthaven Ski Club has a long-standing tradition: NO ONE SKIS ALONE, unless of course, you want to. Cresthaven ski club does it's best to match you with someone of your ability to ski with you. Generally, you will have no problem finding several people to ski with.

What are Cresthven ski club dues, and what do I get as a ski club member?

 

Annual club dues are $35. This entitles you to our newsletter, member prices for club trips and events, and preference on club trips.

Is there a limit to how many bags I can take on a ski club trip?

 

The club has set a one ski bag, one boot bag, and one small suitcase limit on luggagae. All skis and poles must be in a bag.

I have children, can they go on the ski club trips?

 

Children can not attend club ski trips, minimum age to go on club trips is 23.

How do I sign up for a club trip?

 

At the end of each club meeting, the trip leaders take names and payments (50% deposit minimum) for their trips. Club policy is first come, first served as far as signing up. Club members are given preference over non-members. When you sign up is also the time to mention if you need equipment rentals or lessons or have a rooming specific request.

Do I have to attend a club meeting to sign up for club trips?

 

No, after a trip opens you can call the trip leader for availability and send a deposit and/or payment to the trip leader.

I'm a single person. Will I room alone on your ski club trips?

 

Prices for all of our club trips are based on two people per room. We can accommodate smoking and non-smoking requests. If there is someone you want to room with, both you and the person you wish to room with should inform the leader at sign-up. On rare occasions, a single room may be available, at additional cost.
